Ingredients
Meat
- • 2 Breaded chicken patties, frozen
Produce
- • 1/2 tsp Basil, dried
Condiments
- • 2 tbsp Garlic butter
- • 1 cup Marinara sauce
Baking & Spices
- • 1 pinch Garlic salt
Bread & Baked Goods
- • 4 slices Italian bread
Dairy
- • 2 tbsp Parmesan cheese
- • 6 thin slices Provolone cheese
Directions
- Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Prepare the Chicken Patties: Place the chicken patties on a baking sheet.
- Bake: Put the chicken patties in the preheated oven and bake until they are cooked through and crispy, about 20 minutes.
- Slice the Chicken: Once baked, cut each chicken patty in half lengthwise.
- Prepare the Garlic Butter Bread: Spread garlic butter on one side of each bread slice.
- Make the Marinara Sauce: In a microwave-safe bowl, mix together the marinara sauce, basil, and garlic salt. Heat in the microwave until warmed through, about 30 seconds to 1 minute. Stir well.
- Assemble the Sandwich:
- Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, in a skillet over medium heat.
- Top the bread with 2 slices of provolone cheese, 1 tablespoon of marinara sauce, and 2 chicken patty halves (overlapping them to cover the bread).
- Add another 2 tablespoons of marinara sauce, 1 more slice of provolone cheese, and finally, place another slice of bread on top with the buttered side facing up.
- Cook the Sandwich: Cook each sandwich over medium heat until the bread is crisp and the cheese is melted, about 2 to 3 minutes per side. Repeat with the remaining ingredients.
- Serve with Extra Marinara: Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the remaining marinara sauce and serve it alongside each sandwich for dipping. Enjoy!
